Why does my voice actor not do what I want?

Have you ever worked with a voice actor and found that when they submitted their audio to you it sounded nothing like you imagined?
There could be a number of reasons for this.
What's very likely to be the case is the voice actor hasn't actually received either the right information or enough information.
I find that clients will sometimes expect me to just get the words and just do exactly what they want, and it's not always that simple.
Sometimes they're not too fussy about doing something in a very specific way, and they want my artistic input that I naturally breathe into the script as I perform it.
But if there is something very specific that you want, things like references, past commercials, a demo from that voice actor that you really liked and think fits very well to what it is that you want to do.
You can also go into a live-directed session with the voice actor. This is something I do.
You can get into a call with me, and I'll do my take and you can provide feedback and directions.
You can do these things with a professional voice actor.
If the voice actor is provided with enough information, then there's a good chance you'll get exactly what you want.
